Recorded entirely in New York alongside engineer Joe Blaney, this album broke all the molds of Latin American rock up to that point. Charly immersed himself in the new wave scene and used samplers like the Fairlight CMI and the LinnDrum drum machine to create a minimalist, danceable sound. The recording was a cultural clash between Blaney's technical precision and García's chaotic genius.

The album contains anthems like 'Los dinosaurios', which became a symbol of the disappeared during the dictatorship, and 'Nos siguen pegando abajo'. The album cover, featuring a photo of Charly sitting in front of a graffiti that read 'Modern Clix', is one of the most iconic images of the national culture. Its initial reception was divided among rock purists, but it was soon understood as a masterpiece.

It is unanimously voted as one of the best albums in the history of rock en español for its sonic and lyrical audacity. It introduced definitive modernity into Argentine music, fusing sophisticated pop with social depth. Its impact continues to be studied as the breaking point toward the aesthetic contemporaneity of the Southern Cone.
