Después

Daniel Melero’s album Después was conceived during a period of personal and artistic transition, following the success of his previous work. Recorded in his home studio in Buenos Aires, the record merged analog synthesizers with distorted guitars, creating a dense and atmospheric sound. The experimental production reflected his interest in musique concrète and electronic minimalism.

Released in 2004 by the independent label Ultrapop, Después marked a shift toward darker textures and introspective lyrics. Songs like La Máquina del Tiempo and El Día Después explored nostalgia and the fragility of memory. The album received mixed reviews initially but later became a cult favorite within Buenos Aires’ underground scene.

Melero envisioned the album as a seamless sonic journey, with each track flowing into the next in a continuous mix. The cover art, a blurred photograph of an urban landscape at dusk, encapsulated the project’s melancholy. Despite its low commercial profile, Después influenced a generation of Argentine musicians seeking to merge rock with experimental electronics.
