Daniel Melero released Disco in 2014 as a work merging experimental rock with avant-garde electronics, recorded in his home studio in Buenos Aires. The album emerged from a minimalist sonic search, where analog synthesizers and distorted guitars converse with abstract lyrics. Melero conceived the record as both a homage to club culture and a critique of musical nostalgia.

Produced almost single-handedly, Disco avoids acoustic drums in favor of programmed beats evoking 1980s techno. Songs like Fuego en el Mar combine hypnotic loops with processed vocals, creating a dense, futuristic atmosphere. The title reflects irony: it is not a danceable album in the traditional sense, but a reflection on the genre.

Critical reception was mixed, yet the album became cult among followers of Argentine experimental electronics. Melero performed it live with visual projections and shows in unconventional Buenos Aires spaces. Disco marked a turning point in his career, definitively moving him away from conventional rock.
