Piano

Daniel Melero conceived Piano as a transitional work between experimental rock and ambient electronics. Recorded in 1999 in Buenos Aires, the album focused exclusively on the acoustic piano, stripped of guitars and drums. Melero sought to capture the intimacy of a solitary instrument in an almost empty studio.

The album’s production was minimalist, with live recordings and no complex overdubs. Melero improvised long pieces that he later edited to achieve a hypnotic and melancholic atmosphere. The result was a raw sound that contrasted with the digital electronics of the era.

Piano received mixed reviews upon release, but over time it became a cult album. Its influence is noticeable in Argentine artists exploring the fusion of acoustic and electronic music. Today it is remembered as a bold experiment within Argentine music.
