Recorded after the intense tour of 'Ciudad de pobres corazones', this album tries to emerge from absolute darkness toward a more New York-influenced and danceable sound. Fito worked with a very powerful horn section and arrangements reminiscent of late-eighties Prince. The recording at Panda sought a dry, modern sound, with a strong presence of digital keyboards.

Standout tracks include 'Polaroid de locura ordinaria', inspired by the writer Charles Bukowski, and the rhythmic 'Solo los chicos'. The album reflects Fito's nomadic life at that time and his constant need for aesthetic renewal as the decade changed. It was a transitional album that showed an artist searching for his place in a rapidly changing scene.

Although it did not reach the sales level of his later landmark works, it is an album highly valued for its technical and sonic audacity. It demonstrates Fito's mastery of big band arrangements and his ability to write sophisticated urban chronicles. It is the missing link that connects his eighties phase with the massive explosion that would come shortly after.
