It was the band's final studio album before their definitive breakup in 2001, closing an unrepeatable era of national music. The album deepens the electronic path of its predecessor, but with a more carnivalesque, dark, and decadent tone, inspired by the figure of King Momo. The production is extremely complex, full of samplers, noises, and layers of voices that create an impenetrable wall of sound.

Songs like 'Un muerto en el gimnasio' and 'La murga de la virgencita' portray an Argentina on the verge of social and economic collapse. The cover art, a metallic medal embedded in the plastic, is one of the most luxurious and conceptual album presentations ever made in the country. It was presented at a legendary and accident-filled concert at the stadium in Uruguay, in the city of Montevideo.

Momo Sampler is the sonic testament of Los Redondos, a baroque and anguished work that captured the spirit of an era that was ending. Their breakup shortly after the album's release left millions of musical orphans, turning this work into a collector's item and a constant subject of study. It represents the end of a cultural cycle that forever changed the history of Argentina.
