Soul Survivor is Al Green's sixteenth studio album, released in 1987 by A&M Records. It marks his return to secular music after a decade primarily dedicated to gospel, though it retains spiritual elements in its lyrics.
The album was produced by Al Green himself and featured session musicians from Memphis. It includes covers of songs by artists such as The Temptations and Ann Peebles, along with original compositions.
Although it did not achieve the massive success of his 1970s work, Soul Survivor was well received by critics and helped reestablish Green as a relevant figure in contemporary soul. The single "Everything's Gonna Be Alright" received some urban radio airplay.
