'Albert' was Albert King's last studio album for Stax Records, recorded between 1975 and 1976 in Memphis. Production was handled by Allen Jones and Henry Bush.
The album includes a mix of blues, soul, and funk, with original songs and covers. Notable is the track 'I'll Play the Blues for You' (recorded in earlier sessions) and the collaboration of King's band members.
The album did not achieve major chart success but is considered a solid work by the guitarist. Stax closed shortly after, and the album was reissued on CD by Fantasy Records.
