Golden Feelings is Beck's debut album, released independently in 1993 on the Sonic Enemy label. It was recorded in the basement of his home in Los Angeles using a four-track recorder, reflecting a lo-fi and experimental sound that blends folk, noise, and spoken word.
The album was self-produced by Beck and initially distributed on cassette, with a limited run of approximately 500 copies. The songs were composed and recorded before Beck signed with a major label, showcasing his raw and eclectic style that would later define his career.
Although it achieved no commercial success, Golden Feelings is considered a cult item among Beck's followers, documenting his early musical experiments. The album cover features a surreal collage created by the artist himself.
