How My Heart Sings! was recorded in the same sessions as Moonbeams, on May 17, 29, and June 31, 1962. It is the second album by Bill Evans' trio with Chuck Israels and Paul Motian.
The album is characterized by a more energetic and uptempo approach compared to Moonbeams, including jazz standards and original compositions. The title track was composed by pianist Earl Zindars, a friend of Evans.
Released in 1962 by Riverside Records, the album was well received by critics, highlighting the cohesion of the new trio and Evans' ability to combine lyricism with complex rhythms. It is considered an essential companion to Moonbeams.
