Dylan is the eleventh studio album by Bob Dylan, released on November 16, 1973. It is widely considered one of the worst albums of his career, consisting mainly of cover versions of songs by other artists, recorded during the sessions for the album 'Self Portrait' in 1970.
The album includes covers of songs by artists such as Joni Mitchell ('Big Yellow Taxi'), Elton John ('A Fool Such as I'), and Paul Simon ('The Boxer'), as well as two original Dylan songs: 'Sarah Jane' and 'Spanish Is the Loving Tongue'. The production was rushed, and Dylan did not participate in the final selection of songs.
The album reached number 17 in the UK, but only number 94 on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States. It was criticized by critics and the public, and Dylan himself has expressed his dislike for the record. Columbia Records released it without Dylan's consent, during a period of low activity for him.
