Shaman is the nineteenth studio album by Carlos Santana, released on October 22, 2002. It was the follow-up to the successful Supernatural (1999) and continued the same formula of collaborations with guest artists from various genres, including pop, rock, hip-hop, and Latin music.
The album includes collaborations with artists such as Michelle Branch, Dido, Seal, Macy Gray, and the group Ozomatli, among others. The lead single, 'The Game of Love', featuring Michelle Branch, peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and won a Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.
Shaman debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling approximately 300,000 copies in its first week. Although it did not repeat the massive success of Supernatural, it was certified double platinum in the United States and received mixed reviews, highlighting its eclecticism but noting a lack of cohesion.
