Tonight at Noon is a Charles Mingus album released in 1964 by Atlantic Records, although the recordings date from 1957 and 1958. The title comes from a composition of the same name, originally called 'Duet Solo Dancers'.
The recording sessions took place on two dates: November 12, 1957 and March 6, 1958, at Atlantic Studios in New York. The album includes musicians such as Jimmy Knepper (trombone) and Shafi Hadi (alto and tenor sax).
The album was compiled and released posthumously in 1964, after Mingus left Atlantic. It is notable for including the piece 'Passions of a Man', which later became the basis for his work 'Epitaph'.
