Romantic Warrior is the fourth studio album by the jazz fusion group Return to Forever, led by Chick Corea. It was recorded in August 1976 at Record Plant Studios in Sausalito, California, and released that same year by Polydor Records.
The album represents the culmination of Return to Forever's sound in its most progressive and symphonic phase, combining complex harmonic structures with instrumental virtuosity. The cover art, designed by Wilson McLean, reflects the medieval and fantastical theme that permeates the work.
Romantic Warrior reached number 35 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified gold by the RIAA in 1977. It is considered one of the most influential albums in jazz fusion and a milestone in Chick Corea's career.
