Pure Genius is a posthumous compilation album by Clifford Brown, released in 1982 by Elektra Musician. It brings together studio and live recordings made between 1954 and 1956, during the trumpeter's most creative period.
The album includes alternate takes and previously unreleased tracks from sessions with the Clifford Brown-Max Roach Quintet, as well as collaborations with musicians such as Sonny Rollins and Richie Powell. It was produced from master tapes preserved by Brown's family.
