'Dean "Tex" Martin Rides Again' is a country and western album released in 1963 by Reprise Records. Martin adopted the nickname 'Tex' for this project, referencing his Texas roots (he was born in Steubenville, Ohio, but his father was of Italian origin and his mother of Irish descent; the nickname was an invention of his public image).
The album includes traditional cowboy and western songs such as 'Tumbling Tumbleweeds' and 'Cool Water', as well as covers of contemporary country hits. Produced by Lee Gillette, it featured arrangements by Ernie Freeman and session musicians from Nashville and Los Angeles.
Although Martin was not a natural country singer, the album was well received for its relaxed style and velvety voice. It reached number 108 on the Billboard 200 chart and became a favorite among genre fans, though today it is considered a rarity in his discography.
