For God and Country is the thirty-seventh studio album by Dolly Parton, released on November 11, 2003. The album was conceived as a tribute to the United States armed forces and patriotic values, in the context following the September 11, 2001 attacks.
The record includes a mix of original songs by Parton and covers of traditional patriotic and spiritual hymns, such as 'The Star-Spangled Banner' and 'God Bless America'. Production was handled by Dolly Parton herself, and the album was released under her own label Blue Eye Records in association with Welk Music Group.
Although not one of her biggest commercial successes, the album was well received for its sincerity and focus on national unity. Dolly Parton donated part of the proceeds to charitable organizations supporting veterans and military families.
