Little Sparrow is Dolly Parton's thirty-fifth studio album, released on March 13, 2001. It is part of a trilogy of acoustic and bluegrass albums that Parton recorded in the early 2000s, along with 'The Grass Is Blue' (1999) and 'Halos & Horns' (2002). The album was produced solely by Dolly Parton.
The album features a mix of original songs and covers, notably a reinterpretation of 'Seven Bridges Road' (popularized by the Eagles) and a version of 'Down from Dover' from her own catalog. The title track, 'Little Sparrow', is an original composition by Parton. The album peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and number 1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Albums chart.
Little Sparrow received positive reviews, praised for its minimalist production and Parton's vocals. Rolling Stone magazine called it one of the best albums of her late career. The album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album in 2002.
