Far East Suite is an album by Duke Ellington released in 1967 on RCA Victor. It was recorded in New York in December 1966, inspired by the orchestra's tour of Japan, the Middle East, and the Far East in 1963-1964.
The compositions are mainly by Ellington and Billy Strayhorn, with arrangements incorporating musical influences from the visited regions. Highlights include 'Tourist Point of View' and 'Bluebird of Delhi'.
The album won a Grammy Award in 1968 for Best Instrumental Jazz Performance, Large Group. It is considered one of Ellington's late masterpieces.
