This Christmas album was recorded by Ella Fitzgerald in July 1960 in Los Angeles, with arrangements and direction by Frank DeVol. It was produced by Norman Granz and released by Verve Records in October of the same year, becoming a seasonal classic.
The album includes traditional Christmas songs and standards, performed with Fitzgerald's characteristic swing style. Although it was not a major chart success at the time, it has been revalued over the years and is considered one of the best Christmas jazz albums.
In 2016, Verve released a special deluxe edition with additional tracks and remastering. The original album contains 12 songs, and has been praised for the warmth and joy of Fitzgerald's voice, as well as DeVol's orchestral arrangements.
