Angel Band is the ninth studio album by Emmylou Harris, released in 1987. It is an album of traditional gospel hymns, recorded with an acoustic and minimalist approach, accompanied only by her voice and the acoustic guitar of her then-husband Paul Kennerley.
The album was recorded at the Enactron Truck mobile studio and at The Castle, with production shared between Harris and Kennerley. It includes classics such as 'Precious Memories' and 'Angel Band', and reflects Harris's deep connection to Southern spiritual music.
Although not a major commercial success, Angel Band is considered by critics to be one of Harris's most intimate and moving works, highlighting her ability to convey devotion and serenity through simple arrangements and her crystalline voice.
