This album marks Frank Sinatra's first collaboration with arranger and bandleader Count Basie, following the success of their previous joint album 'Sinatra-Basie' (1962). It was recorded at A&R Studios in New York, with arrangements by Quincy Jones.

The title comes from the song 'It Might as Well Be Swing', composed by Cy Coleman and Carolyn Leigh. The album includes swing versions of classics such as 'Fly Me to the Moon' (which became one of Sinatra's most iconic performances) and 'I Wanna Be Around'.

It reached number 13 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified gold. The collaboration with Basie and Jones revitalized Sinatra's sound, combining his vocal style with the power of Basie's big band.
