The album 'Sinatra-Basie' is a collaboration between Frank Sinatra and the Count Basie Orchestra, led by Count Basie himself. It was recorded in October 1962 at Reprise Studios in Hollywood, California, and released in 1963. Production was handled by Teo Macero, with arrangements by Neal Hefti, who also composed most of the orchestral tracks.

This album marked Sinatra's first collaboration with Basie, although they had previously worked together on 'The Frank Sinatra Show' in 1950. The album reached number 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified gold. It is noted for its swing sound and big band energy, with Sinatra showcasing his vocal versatility on tracks like 'I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter' and 'The Lady Is a Tramp'.

The album was a critical and commercial success, solidifying Sinatra's reputation as one of the best jazz vocal interpreters. The collaboration with Basie was repeated in 1964 with the album 'It Might as Well Be Swing', also arranged by Quincy Jones. 'Sinatra-Basie' is considered a classic of the genre and a showcase of both artists at their peak.
