Ropin' the Wind is Garth Brooks' third studio album, released on September 2, 1991. It was the first album in history to debut at number one on both the Billboard 200 and the Top Country Albums charts simultaneously.

The album includes the hit singles 'The River', 'What She's Doing Now', 'Shameless' (originally by Billy Joel), and the title track 'Ropin' the Wind'. It also contains 'The Thunder Rolls', which sparked controversy for its music video about domestic violence.

Ropin' the Wind sold over 14 million copies in the United States, being certified 14 times platinum by the RIAA. It is considered one of the most influential country albums of the 1990s and cemented Brooks as an international superstar.
