Einzelgänger is Giorgio Moroder's second album, released in 1975. The German title means 'loner' or 'lone wolf', reflecting a more introspective and experimental tone. It was again recorded at Musicland Studios in Munich.
The album continues exploring the fusion of progressive rock, electronics, and orchestral elements. It stands out for its innovative use of synthesizers and sequencers, anticipating the disco and eurodance sound that Moroder would popularize shortly after.
Although not a massive commercial hit, Einzelgänger is considered a crucial transitional work. Moroder began collaborating with Pete Bellotte around this time, and the album shows his growing interest in danceable rhythms and electronic textures.
