This album was released in 1956 by RCA Victor as part of the soundtrack for the film 'The Glenn Miller Story' (1954). It includes recordings made by the Glenn Miller Orchestra under the direction of Joseph Gershenson, with arrangements recreating Miller's original sound.

Volume 2 contains songs not included in the first volume, such as 'Moonlight Serenade' and 'In the Mood', although these versions were recorded specifically for the film. Production was handled by Dick Jones, who supervised the studio sessions in New York.

Despite Glenn Miller's death in 1944, his music remained popular thanks to these reissues. The album achieved moderate success on the sales charts, cementing Miller's legacy in the rock and roll era.
