The album blends classics associated with Cole like 'Smile' and 'L-O-V-E' with lesser-known songs. Porter aimed to capture Cole's elegance and warmth without imitating him, maintaining his own soul-jazz style.
Released on August 31, 2017, the album reached number 1 on Billboard's jazz charts and received a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album in 2018.
