Beauty on a Back Street is the fifth studio album by Hall & Oates, released in September 1977. It was produced by Christopher Bond, who had also worked on their previous album, Bigger Than Both of Us.
The album marked a shift towards a more polished pop sound, although it did not achieve the commercial success of its immediate predecessors. It peaked at number 132 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The lead single, 'Don't Change', failed to enter the Billboard Hot 100, but the album includes tracks that later became live favorites, such as 'The Girl Who Used to Be' and 'You Must Be Good for Something'.
