Monster is Herbie Hancock's twenty-first studio album, released in 1979. The album represents a deeper foray into disco and electronic funk, with prominent use of synthesizers and danceable rhythms.

The album features collaboration from several session musicians, including guitarist Ray Parker Jr. and bassist Freddie Washington. The song "Saturday Night" became a minor hit on the R&B charts.

Despite its title, Monster did not achieve major commercial impact compared to other Hancock works from the 1970s. However, the album is remembered for its experimental sound within the context of late disco music.
