Slaughter's Big Rip-Off is the original soundtrack for the 1973 film of the same name, starring Jim Brown. James Brown composed and performed the music, blending funk, soul, and orchestral elements to accompany the blaxploitation film's action.

The album was recorded in 1973 at studios in New York and Los Angeles, with his band The J.B.'s. It includes the hit single 'People Get Up and Drive Your Funky Soul', which reached number 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 11 on the R&B chart.

Production was handled by James Brown himself, who also wrote most of the tracks. The record was released by Polydor Records and, although it did not achieve the massive success of other Brown works, it is valued by collectors for its raw, funky sound.

People Get Up and Drive Your Funky Soul (Remix) was released as a promotional single. The album cover features James Brown in a characteristic pose, reflecting the aesthetics of the era.

The album has not been officially reissued on CD for decades, making it a cult item among James Brown fans. In 2020, a limited vinyl edition was released by Get On Down Records.
