Christmas Island is Jimmy Buffett's fifteenth studio album, released on October 15, 1996. It is his first Christmas album and was recorded at Shrimpboat Sound Studios in Key West, Florida, and other studios.
The album blends traditional Christmas songs with original Buffett tunes, including the title track, a cover of the 1946 song by Harry Simeone. It also features collaborations with artists such as Nadirah Shakoor and Peter Mayer.
Christmas Island peaked at number 27 on the Billboard Top Holiday Albums chart. It was certified gold by the RIAA in 2005, and later platinum in 2016, for sales of over one million copies in the United States.
