The Last Trane is an album by John Coltrane released in 1965 by Prestige Records. The recordings come from two sessions: one on August 16, 1957, and another on January 7, 1958, both at Van Gelder Studio. The 1957 session featured Coltrane with Kenny Burrell on guitar, and the 1958 session included Red Garland, Paul Chambers, and Art Taylor.

The album was released posthumously by Prestige, capitalizing on Coltrane's growing legacy after his death in 1967. The title "The Last Trane" is a pun on his surname and the concept of "last train", although it is not his final recording. It includes original compositions and standards, such as "Lover" and "Slowtrane".

Critics have regarded "The Last Trane" as a document of Coltrane's early evolution, showcasing his mastery of hard bop and his growing interest in harmonic exploration. Although not an essential album in his discography, it offers insight into his work before his modal and free jazz periods.
