Don't Look Back was released in 1997 by Pointblank Records. The album won the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album in 1998.
The record features collaboration with Van Morrison, who co-wrote and sang on several songs, including the title track. Musicians such as Roy Rogers and blues guitarist Robert Cray also participated.
The album was recorded at various studios in California and reached number 1 on the Billboard Top Blues Albums chart. It is considered one of the most successful works of Hooker's later career.
