Freaks of Nature is the eleventh studio album by Kansas, released in 1995. It marked the return of original violinist and vocalist Robby Steinhardt, who had been absent since 1982. It was also the first album with guitarist Zak Rizvi, who joined the band for this project. The record represents a return to the band's progressive roots, with a sound closer to their 1970s work.

Production was handled by the band along with Jeff Glixman, who had previously worked with Kansas on classic albums like 'Leftoverture' and 'Point of Know Return'. The album was released under the Intersound Records label. Although it did not achieve major commercial success, it was well received by the band's followers for its energy and the recovery of symphonic elements.

Notable songs include 'Freaks of Nature', 'Cold Grey Morning', and 'Peaceful and Warm'. The album features a mix of progressive rock, hard rock, and ballads, showcasing the band's musical maturity. Despite having no high-impact singles, 'Freaks of Nature' is considered a cult album within Kansas's discography.
