Keith Jarrett recorded this live album at the Deer Head Inn in Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania, on July 16, 1992. It was his first recording with a standard jazz trio since 1983, following his recovery from chronic fatigue syndrome.

The group includes Gary Peacock on bass and Paul Motian on drums, musicians with whom Jarrett had played in the 1960s. The repertoire mixes jazz standards and original compositions, highlighting the intimacy of the small club.

The album was released in 1994 by ECM and praised for its spontaneity and warmth. It represents a return to jazz roots for Jarrett, moving away from his classical and free improvisation explorations.
