Play Parties in Song and Dance is an album by Lead Belly released in 1941 by the Library of Congress. It was recorded in Washington D.C. under the direction of folklorist Alan Lomax.
The album documents traditional African American children's games and dance songs, known as play parties. Lead Belly sings and plays guitar, sometimes accompanied by other musicians.
This album is part of the Library of Congress field recording series. Its aim was to preserve the popular African American musical culture of the southern United States.
