We've Come a Long Way, Baby is Loretta Lynn's twenty-first studio album, released in 1979 by MCA Records. Produced again by Owen Bradley, the album takes its title from the song that originally appeared on Lynn's previous album. The record continues the pop-country direction Lynn had adopted in the late 1970s.
The album includes the single 'I've Got a Picture of You on My Mind', which reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, becoming one of Lynn's most notable hits of that decade. Other standout tracks include 'You're the One' and a cover of 'I'm a Honky Tonk Girl', one of her early hits.
Despite not achieving the commercial success of her earlier work, the album shows Lynn's evolution as an artist and her willingness to experiment with new sounds. The cover features Lynn in a modern dress and big hair, reflecting the aesthetics of the era. The album has not been officially reissued on CD.
