Marshmello released Sugar Papi on November 3, 2023. It is his first fully Spanish-language album, marking a shift toward Latin music. The project includes collaborations with artists like J Balvin, Eladio Carrion, and Peso Pluma.
The album was mostly produced by Marshmello alongside Latin producers. It contains 17 songs blending reggaeton, Latin trap, and regional Mexican music. It was preceded by the singles El Merengue and Esta Vida.
