Th1rt3en is the thirteenth studio album by Megadeth, released on November 1, 2011. The title references the number 13, which appears on the cover and in several songs, and also marks the return of bassist David Ellefson, who had left the band in 2002.
The album was recorded at Dave Mustaine's home studios and at Vic's Garage, with production shared between Mustaine and Johnny K. It includes songs originally written for Mustaine's side project MD.45, as well as new material composed specifically for Megadeth.
Th1rt3en received generally positive reviews, highlighting the cohesion of the band's classic sound. It peaked at number 11 on the Billboard 200 and was the last Megadeth album to feature guitarist Chris Broderick and drummer Shawn Drover, who left the band in 2014.
