Michael is the first posthumous album by Michael Jackson, released on December 10, 2010, by Epic Records. The album generated controversy because three of the songs ("Breaking News", "Keep Your Head Up", and "Monster") were alleged by some family members and fans to not feature Jackson's vocals. Sony Music defended the authenticity of the recordings.
The album debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200 and reached the top ten in numerous countries. Despite the disputes, it sold over 2 million copies worldwide. The lead single, "Hold My Hand", was a duet with Akon and was released in November 2010.
Recording sessions included material from the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, with production completed by various Jackson collaborators. The song "Much Too Soon" was originally recorded during the "Thriller" sessions in 1982.
