Xscape is the second posthumous album by Michael Jackson, released on May 9, 2014, by Epic Records. The album was produced under the direction of L.A. Reid, who selected eight unreleased songs from Jackson's archives. Each song was "contemporized" by producers such as Timbaland and Rodney Jerkins, but the album also includes Jackson's original versions on a deluxe edition.
The album debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 and reached number one in the United Kingdom and other countries. It sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide. The lead single, "Love Never Felt So Good", featured two versions: a solo version and a posthumous duet with Justin Timberlake.
The songs were recorded between 1980 and 2008, with Jackson working on some of them during the sessions for albums like "Thriller", "Bad", "Dangerous", and "Invincible". The album's title comes from the song "Xscape", which Jackson originally recorded in 1999.
