Fathers and Sons is a double live and studio album released in 1969 by Chess Records. It was recorded at Superharmonic Sound Studio in Chicago and at the University of Chicago rock festival.
The project brought together Muddy Waters with white musicians from the blues-rock scene, such as Mike Bloomfield, Paul Butterfield, and Donald 'Duck' Dunn. The aim was to showcase Waters' influence on the new generation.
The album includes classics like 'Long Distance Call' and 'Got My Mojo Working'. It was a critical and commercial success, reaching number 70 on the Billboard 200 chart, and is considered a bridge between traditional blues and rock.
