Muddy Waters recorded this album in London in 1971, accompanied by British rock musicians such as Rory Gallagher and members of The Rolling Stones. The session was produced by Esmond Edwards for Chess Records.
The album reflects the collaboration between Chicago blues and the emerging British blues rock. It includes versions of Waters classics and new interpretations with a more electric and contemporary sound.
Although well received by critics, some blues purists criticized the production for straying from Waters' traditional sound. However, the album helped introduce his music to a new generation of listeners.
