Oceanside Countryside is a studio album by Neil Young, released on April 19, 2024, as part of the Official Release Series. The original recordings were made in 1977, primarily at Indigo Ranch Studios in Malibu, California, and at Young's Broken Arrow Ranch in Woodside, California.
The album was originally conceived as a double project combining acoustic and electric songs, but Young abandoned it in favor of Comes a Time (1978). The master tapes were rediscovered and restored by Young's team, including 2023 mixes supervised by the artist himself.
The title reflects the duality of the material: songs on the 'Oceanside' side were recorded near the ocean in Malibu, while those on the 'Countryside' side were recorded at his rural ranch. It includes alternate versions of songs that later appeared on albums such as Rust Never Sleeps and Hawks & Doves.
