This album is a duet between Otis Redding and Carla Thomas, released on March 16, 1967. It was Stax Records' first duet album and a commercial success, reaching number 5 on the R&B chart.
The recording sessions took place at Stax Studios in Memphis. Production was handled by Jim Stewart, and the album features Booker T. & the M.G.'s and The Mar-Keys as backing musicians.
The lead single, 'Tramp', became a major hit, reaching number 2 on the R&B chart and number 26 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album solidified the reputation of both artists as key figures in Southern soul.
