Philip Glass composed a series of concertos for various instruments between 2000 and 2009. The Concerto Project is a four-volume collection bringing these works together, released in 2010 on Orange Mountain Music.
The concertos include the Violin Concerto No. 2, Piano Concerto No. 2, Harpsichord Concerto, and Saxophone Concerto. They were performed by soloists such as Robert McDuffie and Paul Neubauer, conducted by Michael Riesman.
Recording took place in several US studios between 2003 and 2009. The album was produced by Glass himself along with Don Christensen and Michael Riesman, and received positive reviews for its breadth and virtuosity.
