Plectrumelectrum is Prince's thirty-seventh studio album, released on September 30, 2014. It was the first album where Prince closely collaborated with his all-female backing band 3rdeyegirl, consisting of Donna Grantis (guitar), Ida Kristine Nielsen (bass), and Hannah Welton (drums). The album's title is a portmanteau of 'plectrum' and 'electrum', reflecting the fusion of rock and funk.

The album was primarily recorded at Paisley Park, with additional sessions at other studios. Prince produced the record alongside 3rdeyegirl, with mixing by Joshua Welton. The sound is characterized by a focus on psychedelic rock, funk, and soul, with an emphasis on distorted guitars and syncopated rhythms, marking a return to a more organic and energetic sound.

Plectrumelectrum received generally positive reviews, highlighting the chemistry between Prince and 3rdeyegirl. The album debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200 chart and was supported by a promotional tour. Although it did not generate major commercial hits, it was praised by critics as a solid work that revitalized Prince's career in the 2010s.
