Cyr is the eleventh studio album by The Smashing Pumpkins, released on November 27, 2020. It was produced by Billy Corgan and recorded in Chicago between 2019 and 2020. The album marks a return to a more synthetic, new wave sound, moving away from the heavy rock of their previous work.
The album was preceded by several singles, including the title track 'Cyr' and 'The Colour of Love'. Unlike previous albums, it did not feature drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, who took a break from the band. Drums were programmed by Corgan.
Cyr received mixed reviews, with praise for its sonic ambition but criticism for its lengthy 20-song runtime. It peaked at number 48 on the Billboard 200. It is the band's first album on Sumerian Records after leaving Warner Bros.
