Machina/The Machines of God is the fifth studio album by The Smashing Pumpkins, released on February 29, 2000. It was the band's first album with keyboardist Jimmy Chamberlin after his return, and the last with bassist D'arcy Wretzky before her departure.
The album is a concept album that tells the story of a fictional band called Glass and the Machines of God. Billy Corgan wrote most of the songs and produced the album alongside Flood, known for his work with U2 and Nine Inch Nails.
Commercially, the album debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200, but sales were lower than previous albums. The promotional tour was canceled due to D'arcy's departure and Corgan's personal issues. The album received mixed reviews.
