Rock 'n Soul was Solomon Burke's debut album, released in 1962 on Apollo Records. The album blended rhythm and blues with early soul, showcasing Burke's powerful voice.
The album included the hit single "Cry to Me", which reached number 5 on Billboard's R&B chart. Production was handled by Bert Berns, who worked closely with Burke.
Although not a massive commercial success, the album established Burke as a key figure in the transition from R&B to soul. His style influenced later artists like Otis Redding.
